The park is luxuriously green and the drive through the park alongside the lake is pleasant and refreshing. It's a wonderful spot to get away from the summer heat or to forget your workday worries.
The park now contains a baseball field, a basketball court, a kiddie playground, picnic areas, and boating and fishing on the lake. There is also a bandshell where concerts can be heard throughout the summer.
But at one time, the park also contained an amusement park. There were roller coasters, a circle swing, and other rides and booths. There was a bridge across the dam, so people could stroll along both sides of the lake. The park also contained a race car track.
A trolley from Pottstown would bring people to the park over a bridge across the creek.
In 1939, when the roller coaster was to be demolished, it was bought by the A. D. Moyer Lumber Co., who promptly tore it down and sold the lumber to customers in Gilbertsville.
Today, only a few remnants of the amusement park can be found in the woods on the hillside. Some concrete blocks that once served as foundations for rides, and a couple of other foundations of long-gone structures.
