Amatol Speedway (Hammonton, NJ) -

was a one and a half mile board track in South Jersey. Just south-east of Hammonton, it opened in 1926 and closed 2 years later, in 1928.

The same drivers of the time raced there as raced at the Indianapolis Speedway. Amatol's steep banking turns, though, allowed faster speeds than at Indianapolis.

Today, the location of the track can still be found on some old maps. The oval itself can still be seen on satellite photos of the area.

See Amatol for more information.
